Warwick Medical School newsletter

Hello and welcome to this special anniversary edition of the Warwick Medical School alumni newsletter.

This autumn we are proud to celebrate 25 years since our very first intake of MB ChB students joined us, back when we were Leicester-Warwick Medical School. There were just 67 students in that first cohort. Since then, more than 3,000 MB ChB graduates have followed in their footsteps, alongside thousands more from our undergraduate, research, and postgraduate taught programmes.

Each one has helped shape our story, making WMS a place of innovation, collaboration, and excellence in medical education and research.

Join our celebrations by exploring your anniversary webpages to revisit key milestones from the last 25 years and to read reflections from those who’ve passed through our doors. Also, don’t miss out on marking 60 years of Warwick at the all alumni reunion on Saturday 22 November.

Best wishes,

Professor Gavin Perkins
Dean of Medicine at WMS

Alumni and staff reflections

“A newly qualified WMS doctor asked the cohort to write our name with "Dr" and "MB ChB" on a piece of paper and keep it in our wallets, to look at whenever we felt we couldn't succeed. This helped near finals.”

From romantic connections to medical trailblazers, MB ChB alumni and staff share their memories from their time at WMS. If you’d like to contribute your own reflections, please email wms.comms@warwick.ac.uk.
